Black? Considering graduate school? Starting graduate school? Don’t know what to expect?

You’re not alone.

Meet your host Allanté, a HBCU graduate who was dropped into academia for her Master’s and is now a Ph.D. student at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh. She is using her personal experiences as a minority in a predominantly white, male-oriented STEM field to encourage, and inspire people of color on their educational journey. Listen as Allanté explores her first orientation as a struggling Ph.D. student who left her fulfilling, well-paying career, and her friends and family to further her passion in helping people of color pursue, and continue their educational careers.

“…My heart is in helping increase the numbers, and providing support for us, right? From us. About the graduate school struggles.”

Class is in session.
